The Kurviga Mountain Dulcimer started out as a happy accident. The form used to bend the sides was for my Sablier model, but alas - something went awry. Not happy about scraping a project, I scratched my beard and thought hard - Then the Kurviga was born! Rich full sound, unique woods and beautiful curves makes this dulcimer a must have to any collector.
As with many of my dulcimers, the fingerboard is lightened to obtain a better sound. Vibrations flow more freely from a lightened finger board to the rest of the box.
Whether its in the form of a slot, holes hogged out or the bridge style fingerboard, keeping the instrument lightweight is a bonus to you. |
The finished instrument is simply breathtaking.
