The Vagabond is a very versitile dulcimer. Light weight, great sound and shorter scale length makes the Vagabond a must have for those that take their instrument on the go. The classic tear drop shape with a bit of Black Peak Studio flare!
Each Vagabond is built from board to instrument. I hand select unique hardwood boards then cut them up and turn them into musical works of art.
The tear drop shape makes these a bit easier to produce, therefore making them very affordable.
Each Vagabond gets a set of braces to ensure longevity and to help transfer those good vibrations around the sound box, making them sing delightfully for a shorter scale instrument.
Every unit comes standard with electronics so you can hook up to an amp!
As with all my dulcimers, the Vagabond gets a fretting treatment. Each fret is leveled then dressed to ensure smooth playablility.
Woods commonly used include, but not limited to: Pauduk, Maple, Walnut, Wenge and Cherry. Sound boards range from Fir to spalted hardwoods.
Completed instrument has multiple layers of Shelac as a sealer, then multiple layers of laquer for a long lasting finish.
Vagabonds range from $335 to $395, depending on wood species and artistic work completed.
